Kazakhstani Junior Water Prize

The first Kazakhstani Republican Competition of High School Water Projects - “Kazakhstani Junior Water Prize” - was held online between April 19 and April 23 (http://www.miras.kz/ru/waterproject).

The competition was organized by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation and Miras International school of Almaty in cooperation with the Stockholm International Water Institute

23 projects from 17 schools of Kazakhstan from the cities of Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Atyrau, Pavlodar, Semey, Petropavlovsk and the village of Kara Balkhash district were presented on the competition.

The competition is the national stage of the prestigious International Competition “Stockholm Junior Water Prize” which is held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess of Sweden Victoria. Since 1997 this competition annually attracted thousands of participants from over 30 countries of the world.

The Winners of the Competition are:

1st place –Smogulova Tomiris with the project “Sustainable protection of water from oil spills”, Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Biology and Chemistry, Pavlodar

2nd place- Sagyndyk Margulan, Argutin Anastas with the project “Clean water in every house”, International School of Almaty, Almaty.

3rd place- Ulankyzy Dilnaz, Tynymbek Ayat, Zhanbolatkyzy Assel with the project “The rational use of water in the school premises” Ulgili Secondary School with the pre-school mini center”, Almaty region, Balkhash district, village Kara

      The Winners of the Competition are awarded Diplomas and special prizes (2 notebooks and a mobile phone).

The Certificate of the Participant of the Competition, memorable gifts and souvenirs are given to all participants of the Competition.

In addition, according to the terms of the competition the winner – Tomiris - is honored to represent Kazakhstan at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
