Dear Parents!
I congratulate you on the New Year 2022 and on the beginning of the new semester. Unfortunately, the beginning of the year was overshadowed by difficult events throughout the republic and in our hometown. I would like to express words of empathy to all the victims in these difficult days. I really hope that you and your loved ones are doing well. May the year be kind, safe and peaceful for everyone. We wish you and your loved one’s good health and a prosperous new year.
I am writing to inform you about the learning format that will be in effect from 17th January 2022.
Based on the order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 5th January 2022, winter holidays were extended until 16th January. Because of the unfavorable sanitary and epidemiological situation in the city of Almaty on the basis of the Decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Almaty from 17th January, students of the Miras International School will continue their education in the online format until at least 31st January 2022.
Lessons will be organized through either the Teams or Zoom platforms.
Links to lessons for Secondary school students will be placed in ManageBac. They will also be sent to students by classroom teachers using school email or WhatsApp messaging.
Links to lessons for Primary school students will be sent by classroom teachers using email, WhatsApp message or through ClassDojo.
The lessons will be conducted in accordance with the Distance Learning Policy following the published timetable of lessons. A copy of the policy is available to parents on the ManageBac platform.
Kindergarten is still closed from 5th January to 19th January. The start of the kindergarten will be announced separately.
We all understand that the Online Format is less effective and more complex for both students and teachers. However, the school is making every effort to organize high-quality education through online platforms.
The students of the final grades will be fully prepared for the exams. Additional classes are organized for them, which will also be held online.
The school is fully ready for the beginning of the 3rd term online. We will inform you about all changes additionally.
Thank you for the support of the school, patience and understanding. I really hope that at the beginning of February we will meet again in our native school and continue our studies as usual.
Once again, I wish you all well-being. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Together we will be able to cope with any situations and help our children complete the school year successfully.
Kind Regards,
Principal of Miras International School
