Organization of classes
The music department includes both individual and group lessons. Piano and guitar lessons are held individually. Vocals, violin, dombra, and solfeggio lessons are held both in groups and individually. During the year, students of the music department give two reporting concerts. At the end of the academic year, children receive a diploma of completion of the music school course. Upon graduation from the music school, children take an exam in their specialty and receive a certificate of completion from the Children’s Music School at “Miras” International School. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.
Classes in sports sections are mainly held in groups by age. The exception is swimming lessons, where both individual and group sessions are provided. Children participate in competitions between teams of private schools in Almaty. Attestation for obtaining and upgrading qualifications in taekwondo (obtaining belts) takes place twice a year in the presence of a representative of the Almaty Taekwondo Federation “ITF” (International Taekwon-Do Federation). Classes are held two to three times a week for 40 minutes.
Language courses are organized in the format of individual lessons, as well as in mini-groups of 5 to 7 people. This approach allows for effectively combining the advantages of personalized learning with the possibilities of group dynamics. Special attention is paid to the individual needs of each student, which contributes to a deeper understanding of the material, accelerated absorption of knowledge, and development of practical language skills. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.
Choreography classes are held in groups divided by age. The main direction is classical and modern choreography. Children participate in city, republican, and international competitions, as well as in all school events. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.
ART classes are conducted in groups. The main focus is on an individual approach, allowing the child’s personal potential to be revealed, a steady interest in art to be formed, and artistic thinking to be developed. In the learning process, children get acquainted with various techniques and methods of painting, master the basics of composition, color theory, and working with different materials. Students take an active part in school and extracurricular exhibitions. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.
Digital and Visual ART classes are held in groups. The course program includes: studying Procreate; lectures on illustration and famous illustrators; the ability to create and understand a technical task; studying and drawing different types of illustration including comics, concept art, character design, and commercial illustration; studying the basics of fine arts through interesting illustration topics.
The course is presented in 3 versions:
- Beginner (Grades 1-4): Twice a week for 40 minutes. Emphasis on program study, drawing basics, and a brief introduction to the world of illustration.
- Intermediate (Grades 5-8): Twice a week for 60 minutes. Emphasis on program study, drawing basics, and a brief introduction to the world of illustration.
- Senior/Main (Grades 9-12): Twice a week for 80 minutes. Full immersion into Digital Art.
Science courses are intended for secondary school students. Classes are held both individually and in groups and are adapted to the level of preparation and needs of each student. The main goal of the lessons is to help students strengthen basic mathematical knowledge and confidence, and develop mathematical skills. Emphasis is on practice, problem-solving, and preparation for tests.
SAT Preparation: A special program for high school students to help successfully pass the SAT and enter the best universities. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.
